Cannabis Science Provides Product Line Guidance With Summary of Products In Development And Available On The Market Today

April 24, 2012

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Cannabis Science, Inc. (CBIS.OB – News) a pioneering U.S. biotech company developing pharmaceutical cannabis (marijuana) products, is providing an update and summary of our goals and product line advancements. Some products are currently available to patients with legal state medical marijuana access, and others are up and coming over-the-counter products that will be available to the public nationally and internationally.

Cannabis Science is currently working towards making critical cannabis-based medications more widely available. To this aim, we have initiated, with our FDA advisory group, the pre-IND process. Unlike most conventional treatments, cannabis medicines and formulations have an outstanding safety profile, going back thousands of years. They allow patients in states with medical cannabis laws to safely make informed decisions to legally self-administer various cannabis-based preparations.

The medication will specifically target skin cancers including basal and squamous cell carcinomas. Judging by the results of the squamous cell carcinoma treatment studies Cannabis Science has already undertaken (see cannabisscience.com), we believe we have a breakthrough treatment for squamous cell carcinomas that are resistant to convention chemo- and radiation therapies.

Currently, Cannabis Science has cannabis-based, high quality oil available in Pueblo and Denver Colorado through licensing agreements. The oil, is packaged in oral dispensing syringes for patient self-administration. We have received excellent feedback regarding these products, specifically from patients suffering cancer and chronic pain.

In addition to the license agreements with dispensary and FDA products, Cannabis Science is very excited about the over the counter skin and nutraceutical product lines that are currently in development. Sunscreen, skin and face moisturizer, lip balm, and anti-aging serum will be available over the counter in drugstores and other retail outlets. Dr. Moe Afaneh, Cannabis Science’s Chief Operations Officer, is heading the development of this product line, and with his decade of successful experience in pharmaceutical product marketing, branding, and compounding prescriptions, he is aiding Cannabis Science tremendously in moving these projects forward. Cannabis Science is also in final discussions to finalize the brand name for the initial product line.

The Company’s intent is to work with specially appointed legal providers and laboratories to expand the availability of its formulations across the United States and the world where legally available.

Dr. Bob Melamede stated “Cannabis Science is excited that we are developing profit centers that will come online and create revenue in 2012. In addition to the revenues that we believe will be created with the Cannabis Extract Based prescription medicines and over-the-counter formulations, Cannabis Science has the ability to generate revenues now through the partnership with Vincent Mehdizadeh of Medical Dispensing Solutions, and consulting revenues Kaneabis acquisition. It is our goal to self- fund the FDA IND application and approval process as much as possible, that funding is generated from these additional profit centers.”

About Cannabis Science, Inc.

The second formulations will address the needs of patients choosing to use concentrated cannabis extracts to treat their ailments. To maintain that marijuana is a dangerous, addictive drug with no medical value is scientifically absurd. Cannabis medicines, with no effective lethal dose, are far safer than aspirin, acetaminophen, and most other OTC drugs that kill thousands of Americans every year.

The Company works with world authorities on phytocannabinoid science targeting critical illnesses, and adheres to scientific methodologies to develop, produce and commercialize phytocannabinoid-based pharmaceutical products. In sum, we are dedicated to the creation of cannabis-based medicines, both with and without psychoactive properties, to treat disease and the symptoms of disease, as well as for general health maintenance.

Cannabis Science Issues First Market and Revenue Guidance in Regards to the Top 10 Cancer Formulations the Company Intends Focus on over Next Ten Years

December 14, 2011

DENVER–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Cannabis Science, Inc. (OTCBB: CBIS.ob), a pioneering US biotech company developing pharmaceutical cannabis products, is pleased to announce that we have a variety of cannabis-based formulations that target critical ailments worldwide. Illnesses ranging from cancer to pain management give the company a large market and revenue base potential. As outlined on the company website www.cannabisscience.com our initial target of self-administered cancer formulations proves to be the fastest to market application as prompted by recent successful cannabis-based treatments outlined in earlier press releases issued by the Company.

Marketresearch.com says cancer is the second-leading cause of death in the United States, and the world market for cancer therapy is growing at a brisk double-digit pace of over 10% per year, with total treatments revenues surpassing $40 billion this year in the USA alone.

Current market research and analysis shows Cannabis Science in a position to capitalize on the current annual cancer revenues at the low end of scale at approximately 1% market share giving the company a projected $400 million total revenues per year less associated costs.

The Top Ten Cancers and their respective markets Cannabis Science intends to focus on in regards to their formulations are Basal Cell Carcinoma and Squamous Cell Carcinoma (Skin Cancers), Ductal Carcinoma (Breast Cancer), Colon Cancer, Glioma (Brain Tumor), Lung Cancer, Multiple Myeloma (Bone Marrow), Ovarian Cancer, Pheochromocytoma (Adrenal Gland), and Prostate Cancer.

Cannabis Science estimates that there are over 7 million patients who suffer from these cancers in the USA alone and who could potentially benefit from the Cannabis Science Based Extract formulations as they initially become available in states with appropriate medical marijuana laws.

Robert Kane, Investor Relations Manager stated, “Our primary goals here at Cannabis Science in regards to increasing shareholder value started with more efficient communication and increased guidance in regards to the revenue and earnings potential of their business model. With the establishment of the Facebook and Twitter accounts, and the incredible support they have given me, it has allowed Cannabis Science to answer and respond to shareholder inquiries much more efficiently than in the past. Now, with this release of this market and revenue guidance, I applaud Dr. Melamede and his team for accomplishing these goals, and doing it so in such an efficient manner. Cannabis Science vigilantly continues to work on their projections and forecasts of their products for potential conditions that Cannabis Science will focus on in the future these projections and forecasts include different global geographical market and different medical conditions going forward over the next ten years. I look forward to sharing that guidance as it approved.”

Dr. Robert Melamede, President of Cannabis Science stated, “This information contained in this guidance demonstrates that we have a viable business model. We will generate revenues from our strategic alliance with MEDBOX, as well as from our Cannabis Extract Based Formulations. These revenue streams, as well as additional ones that we are currently working on, will allow us to fund our FDA efforts on a national level while we test and develop products on the medical marijuana state level.”

Cannabis Science Brand Releases Worldwide Growth Guidance For Its Formulations Targeting Critical Ailments

December 21, 2011

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Cannabis Science, Inc. (OTCBB: CBIS.OB – News), a pioneering US biotech company developing pharmaceutical cannabis products, is pleased to release its analysis of the worldwide market potential for medical cannabis treatments of critical ailments. We know and appreciate the unique ability of pytocannabinoids to holisitcally tap into the human endocannabinoid system and help restore biochemical balance. Currently, we are focused on producing top of the line products for MMJ patients at a state level. Cannabis Science has begun with two extract-based formulations currently released to licensed Colorado patients (Cannabis Science CT-1 and Cannabis Science MT-1, both available through Marisol Therapeutics in Pueblo West, CO, and Cannabis Therapeutics in Colorado Springs, CO). These dispensaries carry our unique formulations that are currently, exclusively available for self-administration by Colorado State licensed medical marijuana patients, especially for those with cancer and other severely debilitating illnesses. We are in serious negotiations to expand this type of operation to other medical marijuana states.

Dr. Robert J. Melamede Ph.D., states, “The actual worldwide market for treating critical ailments with Cannabis Science formulation amounts to trillions of dollars. This number is so high because cannabis-based medicines have been prohibited and discouraged for over 70 years. The explosion of modern scientific inquiry into the uniquely all pervasive endocannabinoid system provides a foundation of peer-reviewed science that can overcome resistance. Congress has an approval rating of less that 10% while over 80% of Americans favor the availability of medical marijuana. Cannabis Science believes that our products will spearhead the solution to the growing healthcare crisis in the US and abroad by their ability to correct endocannabinoid imbalances with holisitc, plant-based medicines.”

FORMULATION REVENUES WILL FALL INTO TWO MAIN CATEGORIES:

1. Licensing by product and by territory/country/continent:
This is common pharmaceutical industry practice. (For example: Otsuka $18 million payment to license for Sativex®) Licensing may be a source of revenue in the first year, but none is projected until the second year.

2. Royalties Payments:
The licensing agreements will lead to royalties on the sales of over-the-counter (dispensary) products in the second year, and prescription products in third and subsequent years. Cannabis Science will also benefit from the cross licensing of products developed by licensees domestically and internationally. Thus, if the licensees develop a product in partnership with Cannabis Science, that product would be marketed in the US by Cannabis Science and its affiliates, while meeting all applicable regulatory guidance.
