Cannabis Science Receives New Photos and Information on Patient Three’s Previous Examinations and the Current Progress on his Severe Squamous Cell Carcinoma

May 16, 2012

COLORADO SPRINGS –(BUSINESS WIRE)– Cannabis Science, Inc. (OTCBB:CBIS.OB – News) a pioneering U.S. biotech company developing pharmaceutical cannabis (marijuana) products, is pleased to provide the latest photos and information on patient three’s progress.

Cannabis Science continues to work closely with its third patient, who is self-treating his otherwise resistant Squamous Cell Carcinoma. The patient has seen dramatic improvements. He has been applying a topical cannabis extract to his cancer, and has seen a large reduction in the tumor masses. Dr. Melamede spoke with the patient this morning, who stated that 80% of the rim that remained from the large tumor on the left side of his head was now gone. The newly posted photo was from over a week ago.

After his last visit to his oncologist (prior to the newly posted photo), the physician explained that he is concerned there may be more tumors on his head that have not yet manifested. The oncologist then instructed the patient to apply the cannabis extracts to his entire scalp. As a result of more extensive topical application of the medicine, new areas have reemerged and are also dying. For example, a new tumor emerged below his hairline. He treated that tumor in the same manner as he has treated the others. He reported that the new tumor had fallen off and left a small hole, similar to what had occurred on his arm (we have not shown these tumors). The rise and fall of the new tumor will be photo-documented when we receive new photos.

Despite the severe pain resulting from additional exposed areas as more tumor mass dies, he is happy to have chosen this route of treatment as opposed to surgery that would have remove most of his scalp and a good portion of the top of his skull. In order to help with the pain and allow for better sleep, the patient is also now taking the extract internally.

The patient stated, “As for my head… the oncologist was amazed by the progress…. as the one tumor on my right side is now almost down to conforming with the natural shape of my head and he thinks the others are being killed off too but predicted it might be a couple more months before he could declare it works…Cautious optimism. Also the doctor said that he is hopeful that this works, as there is no known chemo that cures this type of cancer.”

Cannabis Science Supports House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi Historic Statement to President Obama Supporting Medical Cannabis and The Fight for Patient Rights

May 4, 2012

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Cannabis Science, Inc. (OTCBB: CBIS.ob – News), a pioneering U.S. biotech company developing pharmaceutical cannabis products, supports House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi D-San Francisco Historic Statement to President Obama supporting Medical Cannabis and the Fight for Patient Rights.

Quoted in several news sources including but not limited to the following:

and MediaNews Group:

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi D-San Francisco Historic Statement to President Obama stated the following:

“Access to medicinal marijuana for individuals who are ill or enduring difficult and painful therapies is both a medical and a states’ rights issue. Sixteen states, including our home state of California and the District of Columbia have adopted medicinal marijuana laws – most by a vote of the people.

I have strong concerns about the recent actions by the federal government that threatens the safe access of medicinal marijuana to alleviate the suffering of patients in California, and undermine a policy that has been in place under which the federal government did not pursue individuals whose actions complied with state laws providing for medicinal marijuana.

Proven medicinal uses of marijuana include improving the quality of life for patients with cancer, HIV/AIDS, multiple sclerosis, and other severe medical conditions.

I am pleased to join organizations that support legal access to medicinal marijuana, including the American Nurses Association, the Lymphoma Foundation of America, and the AIDS Action Council.

Medicinal marijuana alleviates some of the most debilitating symptoms of AIDS, including pain, wasting, and nausea. The opportunity to ease the suffering of people who are seriously ill or enduring difficult and painful therapies is an opportunity we must not ignore.

For these reasons, I have long supported efforts in Congress to advocate federal policies that recognize the scientific evidence and clinical research demonstrating the medical benefits of medicinal marijuana, that respects the wishes of the states in providing relief to ill individuals, and that prevents the federal government from acting to harm the safe access of medicinal marijuana provided under state law. I will continue to strongly support those efforts.”

Dr. Robert Melamede stated, “It’s about time members of congress spoke out in favor of democracy. The people in states like California and Colorado have spoken through their ballots, the very basis of democracy. This is a presidential election year. As soon as the voting public demands medical marijuana as a condition for election, things will rapidly change. We are not surprised by Nancy Pelosi’s statement in view of the low approval ratings that our politicians have. We expect to continue to see more and more politicians come out in favor of the Medical Cannabis industry over the next few months. Let’s face it, prohibition and its associated black market is a source of funding for terrorism and therefore should be illegal.

Our internal models suggest that the medical cannabis industry may lower unemployment by 11.6% or more and increase GDP. The Cannabis Industry can help our great country while at the same time help people with Cancer and help soldiers with PTSD. All of these topics are election issues, which tie into the Medical Cannabis Industry and should have a positive impact on Cannabis Science.”

Cannabis Science Receives New Photos and Positive Feedback from Patient Three and an Oncologist about his Severe Squamous Cell Carcinoma

April 11, 2012

COLORADO SPRING, Colo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Cannabis Science, Inc. (OTCBB: CBIS.OB) a pioneering U.S. biotech company developing pharmaceutical cannabis (marijuana) products, is pleased to provide new photographs of the existing treatment for patient three who has a “worst case” of treatment resistant, Squamous Cell Carcinoma. Cannabis Science has received positive feedback from both the patient and

his Oncologist. These photos show the progressive reduction of the tumor masses that has occurred within the months of treatment.

Oncologists have stated that this is the worst case of squamous cell carcinoma, and last week, the patient’s oncologist said the results from the topical cannabis extract are “astonishing.” So instead of needing any surgery this month he is to go back and see the oncologist in June. The patient’s wife, who could not even look at her husband’s head months ago, has stated that it looks as if 75% of the tumors masses are gone.

Since Cannabis Science has been working with this patient extensively, Dr. Robert Melamede has provided lots of support and expert scientific advice during the treatment process. Patient three came to Cannabis Science with hope to find a treatment that would work. Due to his extremely severe case of squamous cell carcinoma, his surgeon wanted to remove his scalp and a good portion of his skull. Instead he opted for 135 radiation treatments, but the remaining tumors became radiation and chemotherapy resistant. Dr. Robert Melamede informs that, “Cannabis extracts have the unique ability to holistically improve health. They simultaneously modify numerous biochemical pathways to produces a healthy concerted action.”

Cannabis Science Reports Second Cancer Patient Receives Clean Biopsy Report Confirming the Biopsy is Free of Cancer Cells

April 4, 2012

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Cannabis Science, Inc. (OTCBB: CBIS.OB – News) a pioneering U.S. biotech company developing pharmaceutical cannabis (marijuana) products is happy to report that patient #2, who had a Squamous cell carcinoma on her arm, has received her biopsy report. It confirms what was visually apparent from the photo-documentation on our website. Her biopsy was free of cancer cells and she will not need any surgical procedure. Nevertheless, the patient will continue with her self-administered topical application of extracts for a while longer to minimize any chance of any surviving cancer cells in areas beyond what was biopsied.

Cannabis Science Inc., President & CEO, Dr. Robert Melamede Ph.D., stated, “Squamous cell carcinomas have a much greater invasive potential than is typical of basal cell carcinomas. Photo-documentation of topical cannabis extract treatments of patient #2 and patient #3 dramatically demonstrate how the treatment appear to extrude the subcutaneous tumor to the surface as the killing and subsequent healing proceeds. Patient #3 reports continued progress as his tumors appear to shrink and the pain levels continue to improve. The patient’s wife commented that about 75% of the large tumor mass is gone. We will continue with ‘live updates’ as new pictures and physician reports are made available to us.”

You can view the patient’s photographs during the treatment process, as well as the full biopsy report from the physician, on the Cannabis Science website www.cannabisscience.com. Cannabis Science Reports Cancer Tumors Continues to Shrink and Die as Apparent Pieces of the Dying Cancer Tumors Begin to Fall off as Evidenced in Newest Photos of the 3rd Squamous Cell Carcinoma Patient

March 8, 2012

DENVER–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Cannabis Science, Inc. (OTCBB:CBIS.OB) a pioneering U.S. biotech company developing pharmaceutical cannabis (marijuana) products, is pleased to release new updated photos from the 3rd cancer patient self-administering cannabis extracts. This patient has severe squamous cell carcinoma on their head that was resistant to chemo and radiation therapy, which left the patient with large tumor masses on their head. With these new photo updates you can see the drastic change in appearance of the tumors and how the topical cannabis extract is killing them.

Cannabis Science has been working very closely with this patient and is continuing to see vast improvement to his treatment resistant squamous cell carcinoma. Prior to using cannabis-based extracts this patient had received radiation and chemotherapy for his condition. This patient notices a huge difference between the treatments and had stated, “While on radiation treatments, each day was stressful and after each treatment I felt horrible as if my entire body was dying organ by organ. While using the Oil, I have noticed that my overall health seems much better. I sleep the recommended hours, unlike the insomnia I suffered while on radiation, and unlike the radiation that caused the restless sleep and nightmares, on the Oil I sleep like a baby.” The patient also mentioned that while showering they would see bits and pieces of the tumor falling off with the water as he was cleaning his head. This patient is very pleased with the results of the topical cannabis extract so far and said he enjoyed absolutely nothing about radiation and felt constantly sick and just overall unhealthy, but with using the oil he said, “I feel myself being restored, not tortured.”

Initially, when the patient began the self- administration of topically applied cannabis extract, the tumor was a solid mass (Figure 1). Subsequently, the extract killed some of the mass and a “cavern” was formed, (Figure 2), followed by the “roof of the cavern” collapsing. The latest photo (Figure 3) shows that the remaining “cavern wall” after pieces progressively have fallen off during the daily shower. Figures 3 and 5 show the lesions are weeping less, flattening out, and their diameter are beginning to shrink.
